Zed

The SecDim MCP Server can be integrated into Zed to bring secure coding labs and personalised learning pathways directly into your editor.

Configuration

  1. Open Zed Settings: press Cmd/Ctrl + , or go to ZedSettings.

  2. Add the SecDim MCP server to your settings.json:

{
  "context_servers": {
    "secdim": {
      "settings": {
        "url": "https://mcp.secdim.com/mcp"
      }
    }
  }
}
  1. Press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + P and type assistant: manage profiles to open the Agent Profile settings.

  2. Create a new profile or customise an existing one.

Alternative: Using mcp-remote

If your version of Zed does not support remote HTTP servers, you can use mcp-remote as a local bridge:

{
  "context_servers": {
    "secdim": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://mcp.secdim.com/mcp"],
      "env": {}
    }
  }
}

This requires Node.js to be installed.

Example Usage

Once configured, you can use Zed’s MCP panel to ask:

  • Give me a personalised secure coding learning path in Python

  • Find me a lab on SQL Injection

  • List practice labs related to the vulnerabilities in my code

Troubleshooting

  • Server not found → Ensure mcp-remote is installed and running.

  • Invalid JSON error → Check your Zed settings.json syntax.

  • No labs returned → Try browsing directly at https://play.secdim.com/browse
